Kelly Shoenfelt, BBA, MDiv,
Certified Sex Educator
Kelly is a native Texan and has a heart, hug, and laugh as big and deep as the state she calls home. Kelly earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas and still spends time on the 40 Acres whenever she can cheer on her Longhorns. Upon graduation, she spent over a decade learning and leading in the digital marketing space at Southwest Airlines, a company with people whom she still considers like family. During her tenure, she received the President's Award "in recognition of her vision, leadership, and dedication to the online evolution of the Southwest Airlines brand." Kelly's experience with SWA taught her the immense value in servant leadership as the basis of corporate culture and the importance of not taking yourself too seriously.
Kelly bravely imagined a new life when she felt called to leave her corporate career and pursue her Master of Divinity, which she earned from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Upon graduation, Kelly received a Fellowship awarded upon recommendation by the faculty for academic excellence, Christian character, leadership, and promise for ministry. Since then, she has served as the pastor for United Methodist churches in the Austin area and also currently serves on the board for iACT (Interfaith Action of Central Texas).
No stranger to being in a “stuck” place in her life, Kelly has found meaning in sharing her journey of coming out and finding peace in the midst of pastoring in a non-affirming denomination. She finds joy in meeting people where they are in seeking the divine and considers her vocation to be loving and caring for the people in her midst. Kelly is also a certified Sex Educator and offers coaching spaces for people who are navigating the complex overlapping terrains of spirituality and sexuality.
Kelly is a loving wife, mother of 2, bonus mom of 4, dog mom to 1 very spoiled doodle, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Kelly loves connecting with people and oversees the Spiritual Coaching team at Unstuck. She is also the self-designated CFO for Unstuck - Chief Fun Officer - and in a recent pastoral cohort was voted “Person I Most Want To Get a Beer With and Talk.”
Since she does not operate under a state licensure like our therapists, Kelly is able to engage with spiritual care needs for persons in any location.
